The No Scrubs AI trend puts you, or you and your friends, into a retro chrome corridor doing a 90s R&B-style routine. This guide walks through making one with NoScrubsVideo from start to finish: choosing a version, picking photos that hold up, generating the clip, and posting it on TikTok.
The whole process usually takes a few minutes. Most of the difference between a great result and a so-so one comes down to the photos, so that section is the longest.
Step 1: Choose Solo or Trio
There are two versions, and both produce a vertical 9:16 clip that runs about 15 seconds.
- Solo needs one photo. You take the lead spot in the center of the corridor.
- Trio needs two or three photos and places each person left, center or right. If you only add two, the AI fills the third spot with a made-up dancer, so the group still looks complete.
Pick Solo if you want the quickest result or you're posting on your own. Pick Trio for a group post with friends. Whoever you want front and center should go in the center slot.
Step 2: Pick photos that work
The video model studies each photo to work out who goes where, so a clear photo gives you a result that actually looks like you. Here's what tends to work and what doesn't.
Do:
- Use one person per photo. Crop group shots so only the person for that slot is visible.
- Show the face clearly, looking at the camera or slightly to the side.
- Choose even, soft light. Daylight from a window is ideal.
- Include at least the head and shoulders. Upper-body or full-body shots help the model match your build and outfit.
- Use a sharp, reasonably large image (JPEG, PNG or WebP, up to 20 MB). Recent phone photos are perfect.
- Keep your hairstyle visible. The generator tries to keep hair length, color and headwear consistent with the photo.
Don't:
- Don't use sunglasses, masks, heavy filters or a hand over the face.
- Don't use strong backlight that leaves the face in shadow.
- Don't use tiny, blurry or screenshot-of-a-screenshot images.
- Don't upload photos of celebrities, public figures, film or music video stills, or news photos. They won't pass review.
- Don't upload photos of anyone under 18, or of anyone who hasn't agreed to be in the video. The service is for adults, and you need permission from everyone you include.
If you're unsure about a photo, try the one where your face is the clearest, even if it isn't your favorite picture.
Step 3: Generate your video
- Open the generator and choose Solo or Trio.
- Add your photo (or photos) to the slots. The page shows when every required photo is ready.
- Sign in with your email. You'll get a one-time code, so there's no password to create.
- Check the cost shown before you start, then press Generate. Credits are sold in one-time packs with no subscription; see pricing for the current packs.
First, the photos go through a short review by the video provider. That usually takes a few seconds, occasionally a few minutes. Once they pass, the render starts on its own. The page shows progress and an estimated time remaining, and you can leave it open in a background tab while you wait.
What to expect
The result is an AI-generated dance clip in the spirit of the trend: a chrome corridor, 90s-style styling and choreography, with the people from your photos in the lead roles. Keep in mind:
- It's a stylized recreation, not a copy. The generator follows the look and feel of the trend. It won't reproduce any original music video shot for shot.
- Likeness varies. Faces usually come through well with good photos, but hands, fast spins and the edges of the frame can show small AI artifacts.
- The clip is silent. The download has no music. Add a sound when you post on TikTok or Reels (see below).
Common reasons a video fails
- A photo didn't pass review. This is the most common one. Photos that look like public figures, stills from films or music videos, news photos, and photos that seem to show minors are rejected. Try a clear, everyday photo instead.
- The model's content check blocked the render. This occasionally happens even with ordinary photos. Trying a different photo usually fixes it.
- A temporary problem on the provider's side. The system retries automatically for a while before it gives up.
Whatever the reason, failed videos refund their credits automatically. You don't need to contact anyone, and you can try again straight away with different photos.
Step 4: Download
When the video is ready, use the download button to save the MP4 to your phone or computer. Finished videos stay in your account, so you can come back and download them again later. Your uploaded photos are deleted automatically about 30 days after the video is made.
Step 5: Add a sound on TikTok
The video has no sound of its own. To add one in TikTok:
- Open TikTok, tap +, and upload the video from your camera roll.
- Tap Add sound at the top of the editor.
- Search for the No Scrubs sound that the trend is using and select it. Tapping the sound on another trend video and choosing "Use this sound" works too.
- Trim the sound so the beat lines up with the start of the dance. The clip is about 15 seconds, so you'll usually want the section that starts on a strong beat.
Adding the sound inside TikTok uses the platform's licensed sound library. You're responsible for any audio you add, so stick to TikTok's own sounds rather than ripping a track from somewhere else.
Step 6: Caption, hashtag and AI label
Write a short caption and add #noscrubsaitrend so other people doing the trend can find your video. A few relevant tags like #aidance are fine. You don't need a wall of hashtags.
Before posting, turn on TikTok's AI-generated content label (under "More options" when you post). The video is made by AI, and TikTok asks creators to label realistic AI content. Labeling it is also simply honest with your viewers. Other platforms like Instagram and YouTube have similar settings.
Quick checklist
- Solo for one person, Trio for two or three friends.
- One clear, well-lit face per photo, from adults who agreed to be included.
- Check the price, press Generate, and wait a few minutes.
- Download the MP4, post it, tag #noscrubsaitrend and switch on the AI label.
