Three spots, three roles
When you pick Trio, the upload form shows three spots: Left dancer, Lead dancer (center) and Right dancer. They are not interchangeable. The routine has its own blocking, and each spot gets different moments on screen.
The lead in the center carries most of the clip. They get the opening close-up where they point at the camera, the overhead shot in the narrow metal shaft, the face close-up with the tongue out and the fisheye squat near the end. The left and right dancers join the lead in the wide shots, and each gets a short solo moment of their own, so nobody is just in the background.
Who should take the center spot
Put the person who will post the clip in the middle. It is their face the viewer remembers, because the center dancer appears in almost every shot.
If you are making it as a birthday or farewell surprise, put the guest of honor in the middle and the two friends who organized it on the sides. You pick who goes in which spot before you press Generate, so choose the order that tells the best story.
Two photos or three
You need at least two photos. With two, the first goes to the left spot and the second to the lead spot, and a stranger the AI makes up takes the right spot. The stranger never looks like either of you or like any celebrity.
With three photos, all three spots are your friends. It costs the same either way, so if you have a third friend who wants in, add them.
Photos that look good next to each other
The AI keeps each person's face, hair and clothes from their own photo, so the three photos don't have to match. They do look better together when they are similar in a few ways.
- Similar framing: three waist-up or three full-body photos, rather than a mix of selfies and distant shots.
- Even light on every face. One dark photo makes that friend harder to recognize in the close-ups.
- One person per photo. Crop group pictures so each upload shows only the friend for that spot.
- Everyday clothes are fine. Whatever each person wears in the photo is what they wear in the clip.
Get everyone's OK first
Everyone in a Trio clip must be an adult, and everyone must agree to appear in an AI video before you upload their photo. You'll tick a box confirming you have the right to use the photos. Celebrities and public figures are rejected at review, and a rejected photo doesn't cost credits.
